---David R. passed on January 26, 2016. He died in the ICU at UCSF from an infection. He was surrounded by pictures of his paintings and of things that meant much to him. He will be missed!

David is my big brother, he is 9 years older than me. I was able to visit him last April. I was so happy to see him. We were able to reconnect on facebook after so many years. My brother was an amazing talent. He lived a hard life his in his younger years, however he came around and was able to appreciate life to the fullest. I loved him so much. I spoke with often on facebook and we spoke on the phone. We talked in December and he said he was doing well. My husband also spoke with him last and he said everything was ok. Just like him to not worry anyone. It was heartbreaking to read a text from my sister that he had passed in January and it was already February 29th. I was sure my contact information was at the hospital. I am glad he had a family of friends that cared for him at Laguna Honda. The video of from his friend is so beautiful. His paintings incredible ! His music ability a talent since he was a youngster. My mother would drive us all to his music gigs. He was great on a guitar. He could draw like no one I knew. I know he is not in pain and free of this world's BS, may my brother David Anthony Ratliff Rest in Peace. Love you Forever. Donna
